“A ruby brooch, and not a small one either! God knows how much it cost, but it would have been expensive.”

“It was,” admitted Michael. It cost too much bloody money. Cost him in money? Too, it had cost him in sleepless nights. Fretful nights that consisted of worry and guilt.

“But yet, you managed to find the money to pay for it? You did pay for it and not take out a loan? If that was the case, Michael, that was damn stupid.”
