Immoral Society Book Three

As the carriage travelled to its destination, Anne’s thoughts were on Charles. She had assumed he was at his country estate so his letter was sent to his home in Kent. Now, Anne wondered if he was staying at his London residence. Gazing out of the window she could kick herself as it would have made sense to send a letter to both of his residences. Both letters would have arrived in plenty of time, especially as her carriage was making slow progress in the winter weather. Feeling Daniel stir in her arms she squeezed him; he was fine, fast asleep in his mother’s arms. If only my life were as simple as Daniel’s.
